Scott A. - April 2009

Five years ago we found this 65 Impala SS near Dodge Center Mn.  As near as we could find out, we are the third owners.  It was first purchased from a dealership in Minneapolis I suspect in 1965. A Minnesota car yet today. (born in Detroit Feb.65)

It began it's life Cyprus Green and stock, but not anymore.

As the project progressed we ended up doing an off frame rotisserie restoration, not what we initially planned on.

We did run the major numbers on the car, all were found to be correct. All original parts not used were kept and stored away. (One exception found and was noted by a club member – a Ford radiator fan – it was discarded.)

 In the beginning:

·         327 cu. in.250 HP

·         2 speed Power glide

·         2 dr. ht. Super Sport

·         Black interior, buckets and counsel

Some changes & additions:

·         Power Steering

·         Power Disc Brakes

·         Black vinyl top

·         Turbo 350 trans. (3 spd.)

·         Edelbrock Intake

·         Holley 650 carb.

·         Electric Cutouts

·         Ceramic coated headers/dual exhaust

·         New factory interior, black

·         Added passenger side mirror

·         Re-Chromed existing bumpers

·         All exterior trim available was replaced a few pieces had to be refurbished.

·         The paint is an original 1965 Chevy color, Silver Cloud.

·         BF Goodrich tires mounted on Eagle alloy rims

·         Horse power estimated at 300 plus

I didn’t keep any written record of the process, from memory and a couple of trips to the shop. I do remember it took four years a lot help from friends only one broken finger and several raised eyebrows from my bride and a little help from Wells Fargo.
